app.itize.us
app.itize.us is a painstakingly curated presentation of the best of the best designed iPhone apps that are available via the app store (for free or paid). it is intentionally a very small hand picked selection compared to what is currently available via the app store (now upwards of 100k) due to the fact that its very difficult to find many of these apps since they are not part of any of the top rated/grossing lists.

FaceDetection - OpenCV Wiki
A recognition process can be much more efficient if it is based on the detection of features that encode some information about the class to be detected. This is the case of Haar-like features that encode the existence of oriented contrasts between regions in the image. A set of these features can be used to encode the contrasts exhibited by a human face and their spacial relationships. Haar-like features are so called because they are computed similar to the coefficients in Haar wavelet transforms. The object detector of OpenCV has been initially proposed by Paul Viola and improved by Rainer Lienhart. First, a classifier (namely a cascade of boosted classifiers working with haar-like features) is trained with a few hundreds of sample views of a particular object (i.e., a face or a car), called positive examples, that are scaled to the same size (say, 20x20), and negative examples - arbitrary images of the same size.

Bill Clementson's Blog: iPhone App Development Notes
As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm learning how to write code for the iPhone. While working on my first iPhone app (currently awaiting app store approval!), I came across a number of "gotchas" and things that required a bit of research to resolve. Not to say that they were particularly difficult to resolve; however, they did require a bit more work on my part to find solutions. In case my experience can benefit others (and also to record these things for my own benefit), I'll list them here on my blog. In no particular order:
